New Poem
Please check it out. It will probably be the last one for a while. They take too much out of me.

I won!
This is Gina talking.
Yeah, I won! The last blog I posted of the video of my friend advertising her topless undershirt, I posted it because they were having a contest. I posted it and was entered into a drawing to win 2 free shirts. I won! I love winning things. So, when I get them in the mail, I will post a picture of me wearing them.

Happy Halloween
Sunday, November 4, 2007
I hacked into Ben's blog to post this. He didn't want me to. But take a look at this video. It is of a friend of mine, Katie Matteson, on Good Things Utah advertising her company, Blush, that sells the topless undershirt. It's actually a pretty cool thing she came up with - www.toplessundershirt.com.

Gabby and other Church Kids

From left to right, Sofia Arkell, Marin Dameron, Suzy Arkell, Valeria Lara, Gabby Arkell. Sofia and Suzy were on one team, Marin and Valeria were on different teams, and Gabby was on the same team as Suzy and Sofie, but in a different age category.
Gabby was her teams best server, but she was shorter than all her teammates. She was one of only 2 5th graders. All the rest were 6th graders.

Another win for the Hot Shots
Hollan 'pitched' his second shutout as he made some incredible saves in goal with his team winning 5-0 in their second to last game of the season. His leaping save to knock down a shot that was over his head was one of the highlights not caught on film....the videographer was too busy watching the game! It will, however, be etched in the brain of Hollan as he recapped the play over and over and over again to his siblings..
Mike pulling his weight
Das Boot doubled
On the strength of her 'booting' ability, Addison's two kicks, which ended up being goals, helped her team to a shocking 4-3 victory over a more talented opponent.
Her penalty kick hit the top crossbar and bounced down into the goal and her corner kick curved and landed in the corner of the net. What a leg!
Victory at Last!
Friday night Nairne led his JH football team to their first victory in 3 years...in a 2 touchdown pass (1 int) outing in the pouring rain and in a slimy mudpit, they pulled it out an OT win... a cheering massive pile of Timbercrest football players ended up in the middle of the field. Mike tried, unsuccessfully, to knock over the field goal posts along with the 12 Timbercrest fans.
I, unfortunately, had to leave before the end OT to pick up Add from soccer practice, so was unable to share in the joyous celebration.

Gagme with a spoon

Tip your cap old man, cause you are done. We will not see Gagne pitch in another game with a Red Sox uniform on. He is atrocious. Is this guy on the Indians payroll? He's been their best player this series. Too bad he is showing up for the wrong team. I hear that he is now going for the record of most consecutive blown saves. Hurts to watch the man. Hurts.
Ben's Opinion Blog
If you haven't had a chance to read Ben's opinion blog, please do so.
It is highly recommended reading!
Ben's opinions are a smorgasbord of silliness, a mélange of merriment, with a dash of the delightfully mundane, which adds just enough reality to engage the reader without descending entirely into camp.
The subject of my favorite entry was nickels.

House sale went through
We bought the aforementioned house.
We like it so far.
Dining room is large enough for our table, with a built-in china cabinet (for our non-existent china).
Kitchen is small, but adjoins a breakfast nook, which is nice.
Hardwood floors throughout the house.
2 full bathroooms, on 1/2 bath in the basement.
4 bedrooms, 1 partially finished room in the basement, basement is huge, with lots of shelves for storage. There is also a safe room built in a corner for tornados.
Upstairs, the smallest of the bedrooms is empty, we will use it as a playroom, it also has a closet which is very large; the girls use it as a reading room. The largest bedroom (about 20 x 15) is for the 4 oldest, who have their beds set up in a row along the wall. It looks like a hospital wing. Their closet is also very big, with built-in cabinets. The medium-sized bedroom we chose for our room has two closets, and an attached sunroom (about 9 x 9), with its own door. Vanessa and Paola are using the sunroom as a bedroom, since one of them usually ends up wanting to sleep with us most nights.
The largest bedroom is downstairs, (about 25 x 25). We are using it as my home office/den.
Outside, there is a one-car garage, an enclosed backyard with a cinderblock fence painted brick-red. Also there is another lot next door which is ours, but isn't enclosed by a fence.
If any of you is thinking of visiting Dodge City, you are welcome to visit!

A very Belated Birthday Shelly Marie!
In true Arkell form, with a dash of Farner form, we are wishing you a belated birthday. On Sunday, I remembered that your birthday was coming up, but that was only the 16th. Then suddenly it was the 21st.!Hope Roman showered you with love and attention and Daaron showered you with hugs and kisses....or vice versa.
We love you lots and lots!

Uncle George and Aunt Sandra
Off season
Goalie guru
Almost a hat trick
Here is Addison booting the corner kick in her 2nd soccer game of the season. They tied 4-4, their second tie of the season. Addison scored two goals. We missed videotaping the first goal, so Mike yelled out to her to do it again so he could get it on tape - about 7 minutes later, she scored again! The crowd asked Mike if he got that one on tape, which he did....
