Field day at school - a variety of events, including the tug o war - pitting classmates against classmates - Hollan's team came away victorious after a vicious struggle. Hollan, as he so eloquently put it, 'won it for the team with my final yank on the rope'. Nothing like total confidence in one's abilities....

Edgar's little buddy
Addison's class got a tour of the Mariner's facility at Safeco field - her teacher has some connections - here is a photo of Martinez's locker in the Mariner's locker room.
Her class got to eat in the press box overlooking the field as well as tour some of the exclusive suites. They ended the day receiving mariner's shirts with ICHIRO on the back!
Autographs anyone?
Seattle's 6th grade play ended last night - she was in 2 different casts - same play - Robin Hood. In the 1st cast she was a Jester and performed a few acrobatic moves on stage with 2 of her friends....she is quite a ham - she takes after her Grandmother Arkell! In the 2nd cast she was Beth, a member of Robin Hood's band - quite famous member - I am sure you all have heard of her. This was a speaking part. Can you pick her out in the photo? Nairne gave Seattle a few tips during dress rehearsal...

Story time
I am sure you all share stories from your youth with your kids at bedtime. I told the one last night about how we stopped for lunch and ate our sandwiches at some park and the killer bees attacked us. Shell, do you remember that one?
Anyway, I am looking for some good stories to share because I am running out of them. If any of the stories that you share with your kids at night involve something I would remember, please pass them along. I know my kids would appreciate it.

Well people, we finally get to move out of our luxury trailer tomorrow. Enough was enough! We sold it and are moving into an aparment until our house is ready in December or January.
I have a second interview tomorrow at USAA(Insurance/Investment company). We shall see... Wish me luck.

James and Ryan have landed safely at EFY
Uncle Ben got to drop of Ryan and James in Provo yesterday. I learned a few things. One, James can text while enjoying the scenery of the mountains. A no look text, pretty impressive. Second, James ignores Ryan as much as Dan ignored me when I would talk to him. Older brothers don't nod, acknowledge, or give any indication that younger brothers exist. If it weren't for the times when they beat us up, we might have a case at proving our invisibility. Third, the skinnier they are, the faster they eat. James ate 2 hot & spicy sandwiches, went to the bathroom , sent a few text messages, all while Ryan and I finished swallowing our first bite. It was good to see them, they have developed into fine young men. Hope they have a good week at EFY. Watch out ladies, here they come!

Pre Summer Fun
Olympic participants
Here are a couple of photos of the girls competing in the Junior Olympics held at the High School. Seattle placed first in the high jump and third in the relay. Some of her fellow jumpers had legs up to their necks, but she held on and won. Addison received participation ribbons in the ball kick and the relay...a little case of nerves kicked in (no pun intended) before her ball kick. She kicked both of the soccer balls so quickly, I barely had time to get a shot! I think she was tired of waiting - there were about 15-20 kickers that went ahead of her.
