Story time

I am sure you all share stories from your youth with your kids at bedtime. I told the one last night about how we stopped for lunch and ate our sandwiches at some park and the killer bees attacked us. Shell, do you remember that one?

Anyway, I am looking for some good stories to share because I am running out of them. If any of the stories that you share with your kids at night involve something I would remember, please pass them along. I know my kids would appreciate it.

Do you want the more feminine Ben:

You liked wearing girl's clothes, sucking your thumb and dragging around a blanket all the time.

Or the more manly one

You wore sunglasses and 'rode' a motorcycle and always had a 'woman' on each arm even at the tender age of three

Did I really like wearing girls clothes? I remember Amy and Shelly dressing me up in girls clothes and bringing me over to the Emmott's house....

The reason I ask is because Evan loves princess dresses and high heels and jewelry and it freaks me out. Gina thinks its a crack-up but since I turned out so manly having like dresses as a youth, I won't worry.

Wow. Dan had a lot. I will list a few.

When you carried Jennifer when she was a baby and dropped her in the trash can.

When I chased you around the church and you ran into the corner of the brick in the foyer and it left blood and red hair on it.

When I kicked you where I am not supposed to and Mom beat the snot out of me for it.(rightly so, I think...)

When we would gang up on Dan to take back the clicker.

When I would give you Taun Taun rides...(they were like piggy back rides, but those were the animals from Return of the Jedi or Star wars)

When we would jump off our roof of the family room.

When we would play in the nice tree in our yard next to the kitchen and have snacks out their.

When we went to Water Country with Mike and Carolyn.

When Mom made Grandma Arkell take me with you and her to McDonalds.

When I almost beat up Bridget in school and you tried to calm me down.

When I would bring you to the barbershop and tell the barber how to cut your hair right.

When I would go with you in the store because you didn't want to go by yourself.

When we would go to the beach at like 2 in the afternoon and play until dark.

When we would play hide and go seek in the woods.

When we would run from Trapper the mean cocker spaniel on our paper routes.

When a big huge dog on Nakomis road almost ate you, even though mum took us in the Suburban.

When we would come back from the beach and have either fish and chips or a ice cream cone with chocolate on top.

When I would make you whatever you wanted to eat to fatten you up...
When it would rain in the summer and we would play in the streets with our bathing suits on! FUN!
When we would play basketball, and you would beat me all the time and beg me to keep playing, even though I didn't want to anymore. You would say that you wouldn't try as hard as long as I kept playing.

When we would fight in the car about who was crossing the invisible line...Then when we hid in the trunk from Dad after the lady heard him yelling at us and threatened Dad she would call the police and he said he was the police. Then Phillip saw me coming out of the trunk! How embarrasing. I had a crush on him.

When I beat Phillip up for beating Dan up.

When Charlie, you and I got in trouble with mom because we turned up the A/C in the family room and put tons of blankets on us.

When we used to baby sit Carolyn's Dogs and Cat.

When we would go on walks with Mom and Dad or bike rides at the Shipyard or quartermile or Weymouth landing.

When we would fight every sunday after church, for some silly reason.

When Mom taught you how to read by reading the program to you in Sacrament.

When I would try to use the phone and you would be on the phone, NOT TALKING, with some girl.

When Dan and you and I would go to the movies...

When we would wake up at two in the morning and go downstairs and open our stockings, and wait until seven so we could wake up Mom and Dad and open our presents at Christmas. (Love these memories...)

When I would make cinnamon rolls for everyone for christmas morning.

When we would make teddy bear breads for the neighbors for christmas. And deliver them...

I still have more.
