Grades

I found out that I got a B in my Quantative Research Methods class. That is just a fancy name for Statistics II. I really despised this class. It didn't make any sense to me. I have yet to find out my grade for my Accounting II class. It was hard to learn online. The teacher was very difficult to learn from. She didn't always check for questions during the week like she is supposed to. And she has 24-48 hours to respond. By that time, it is too late, and we have to submit the quiz/exam. Anyway, everything else is okay. Daaron is so big now. He is getting taller by the minute.

love you guys/gals,

Shell

Dan Update

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Been very busy.

I'm looking forward to having Melca and the girls with me in Dodge City in just 8 1/2 days!

Had my first full hearing taking testimony! It was a restitution hearing for an arson case. My client was being asked to reimburse an arson victim over $40,000.00. I got that down to $17,000.00.

The judge threatened to throw my star witness out of the courtroom for laughing at the arson victim's ludicrous testimony, so I was happy to get that reduction considering the judge was so upset at my witness.

Don't have any pictures to share, since I'm posting on my lunch break from work.

Kim, what an athletic family!

Love you all,

Dan

A photo we never thought we'd see

Here is Nairne in his baseball uniform on a baseball team - something he said he'd never participate in- he played tball one year as a tiny tot, but hasn't since. He tried out for the Jr High team and made it - much to his chagrin and surprise. We were surprised he tried out at all; he never had any interest in it and said it was completely boring. .... the truth came out however: he tried out because he has been grounded and this was a way to be able to hang out with the guys - his backup plan was track - which he now wishes was his first plan. (Cuz there are girls on the track team)
He has yet to play...but enjoys eating his sunflower seeds standing in the dugout for 3-4 hours per game - I have to agree with him - it is pretty boring....especially when it is cold and rainy!

Seattle's 1 - 2 - 3

Seattle placed first in the high jump (4feet2inches), 2nd in the 75 yard dash and 3rd in the relay - she ran the last leg and was centimeters away from the 2nd place team - her team started off really slow out of the gates and she closed the gap at the end - she was running so fast in the relay I couldn't get a good shot - she was in the viewfinder then gone in a flash! The above photo is her running the 75yard dash

Bumble's Big Opening day

Here is Addison running the 75 yard dash and doing the ball kick at her track meet yesterday - she placed third in both events - What style! What form!

Uncle Russell look a like

Mom agrees that Hollan looks like Uncle Russell in this photo....your opinion? (if you have ever seen a photo of Russell when he was younger)
Another of photo of Hollan looking as bored as we are having to watch the excruciatingly slow game of rookie baseball.. ...YAWN FEST!!!!!!!!!! At least he wasn't building castles in the dirt like most of his teammates

We really are that boring!

Sorry to say that we really are a boring family. Not too much action - I will relate a funny anecdote though.

While driving to Hollan's lacrosse game, he asked us if we could watch the video of when Seattle was being born, when the doctor cut her 'vocal chord' .....
Here is a photo of Hollan geared up in his lacrosse stuff at practice - his 'penny' was ripped while zig -zagging through all the players on his way to scoring a goal.....just kidding - I think he ripped it while trying to put it on over his helmet!

Call for contributions!

I guess your lives really are as boring as I thougt! Come on Arkell's I know there is something noteworthy that you could share with the rest of us!! Keep us informed! Keep posting!

See how many typos you can find in my previous post

I was in a hurry!

Ben got the job!

Well, I gave Paychex my 2 weeks notice and will be starting with "Cygnus" on the 21st of May. I will be a lot better off money-wise but also I will be able to learn a lot more. It will be a baptism by fire, but I am looking forward to it. I will be moving from Paychex, a Fortune 500 company with 570,00 clients and 10,000 employees, to Cygnus, a small PEO with 30 clients and me being employee #4. The other employees include my Stake President (Sales & Marketing), my Bishop's son (President), and some random girl. My Bishop, I should note, is on the Board of Directors. (I didn't know 4 man ops had Boards of Directors??)

This new job is 1 mile from home, the old one was 12, and it will be a lot more flexible and I will have a chance to shine. It was really hard telling my Branch Manager I was leaving, and she was shock and disappointed, saying that she "envisioned me in her position one day"......

Just wanted to keep you all update. How about those UTAH JAZZ!!
