Lieutant Colonel Oliver North

Was able to meet Oliver North and hear him speak at a business meeting in Kansas City, MO. I am just sad Dad couldn't have heard him. What a true patriot. He is smiling cause I was rubbing his back:) Just Kidding. I got a signed book from him. I am so lucky!

NO MORE WIRE HANGERS

Pippi Longstocking - eat your heart out!

Eat your vegetables!

Homecoming

Here is Nairne with his date Keegan before they went off to the homecoming dance - he was trying to stand up as straight as he could because his date is tall and was wearing high heels. They went with a group of 26 kids rented a limo and went to an italian restaurant for dinner before the dance and afterparty. He still is ticked off about how much money he had to spend...but he had a great time.

Sophomore sensation

Here Nairne races into the endzone past the outstretched arms of a would be tackler to add another touchdown in his team's win 12-7. He also passed for a touchdown earlier in the game. Nairne ended with 89 yards rushing and a very sore cuerpo.

Move away from the ball..

Here Addison manages to keep the ball away from the opponent - gotta love the pigtails

Debut of the soccer debutante

Seattle is in the black...notice the terror on the opponents face...
After 10 years, Seattle came out of retirement and participated in a team soccer game...feeling a tad nervous about not knowing all the ins and outs of the game, she forged ahead and got in the game. They won the game 3-1 in the sun!

Trying to carry on...

Here is Hollan trying to hold it together after missing a few saves...they lost the game 6-5 - afterwards he said - "I am not playing goalie"
Poor guy can't stand failing at anything....wonder where he gets that from...

Baby Blessing

Dear Heavenly Father, In the Name of Jesus Christ, we, priests after the order of Melchizedek, take this child in our arms, and by virtue of the priesthood which we hold, give him a name and a blessing. The name by which he will be known on the records of the church and during his time on earth is Daniel James Arkell, II. Heavenly Father, bless this child that he will be a man more precious than gold, bless him that virtue will garnish his thoughts unceasingly so that his confidence may wax strong in thy presence; bless him to be a man without guile; bless him to be valiant for courange, and strength and activity; bless him to have a wise and understanding heart; bless him that he will find an eternal companion whom he loves and cherishes, and who adores and treasures him; bless him that he will be happy with a quiver full of children; bless him that he will raise up a righteous posterity unto thee. These blessings and all those that Thou, the Father of his spirit knowest he stands in need of, we seal upon him, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Daniel James Arkell II

7 lbs., 6.1 ounces (3350 grams) 2o inches, born at 38 weeks.
Doctor induced because he was afraid the head was going to be too big because of Melca's borderline Gestational Diabetes. DJ's head was bigger than the girl's heads, so it was probably good that he did induce her.
His name is Daniel James Arkell II.
Melca is doing well, DJ too, but he has to stay in hospital for one more day to make sure that he doesn't have a strep infection, because the nurses forgot to give Melca a second dose of penicillin.
DJ is very calm, nurses well, doesn't cry a lot, like all of his other siblings except for Paola. Pictures will be forthcoming, but Melca doesn't want to relinquish the camera just yet.

Arise and Shine

Just a couple of photos from Addison's Camp Casey experience - 3 days and 2 nights with all the fifth graders from 2 elementary schools - she enjoyed all it had to offer, except waking up in the morning

Hail to the Bumble...

Very strange weather in Woodinville these past months - here is Addison out in the hail in April (no that is not dandruff in her hair)...afterward we had thunder and lightning and it snowed two weekends in the same month. She was cooling off after her basketball practice...

Crocheted hat anyone?

To pass the time while he was laid up after surgery, Nairne learned to crochet hats...he has made several and sells them to kids at school...
